There are hundreds of articles that tell us to be careful to publish something that will affect us, even leaving us without work and with a very bad image, I have said it tirelessly for years, well, now I write this in defense of a healthy balance that make us happy and show us before our online community as who we really are, as complex as the human being, with goals but also with convictions and perspectives on what happens in our lives and in the world.
Sometimes we will offend others with what we publish, the important thing is to consider if we believe that it is still important to express ourselves, or if we are doing it just to provoke. Sometimes, inevitably, we will offend someone, sometimes many people. We have to ask ourselves what the reasons are for getting our message across, asking ourselves if it’s worth it, wondering why it’s important to us.
Many of us have strong political or moral convictions, we have a testimony, an experience, we are against or in favor of something, we have unconventional points of view. With the exposure of these messages, many people have made changes in the world, in recent years those voices and those changes have had the support of the Internet.
Among the people who write more freely on the networks and in their blogs are those who go beyond looking for a personal good, are those who also lean towards the common good. That sometimes requires “muddy hands” with some honesty that leaves us more exposed, but that will also make us have a more satisfied life, true to ourselves.
How to recognize a person who participates in networks for personal purposes? Well, they are those who promote themselves, who talk about their activities and professional relationships, whose timeline has mostly positive messages, ignoring the negative events in their environment that affect them. Now, this is not negative, it is something that is going to bring us many benefits and zero problems, but dissatisfaction and a future regret can come hand in hand.
Sometimes we don’t write what we have in mind simply because we believe that nobody reads us, because perhaps nobody is interested in what we have to say, because we believe that nobody cares about our vision, but there is always someone who will read us , we are leaving a permanent mark on the world thanks to the new technological tools, never hesitate.
Other times we avoid expressing ourselves to avoid losing followers and friends, it is when we fall into the mistake of trying to meet the expectations of others, when we believe that numbers matter. Let us not let go of our own expectations of ourselves, let us not leave behind the opportunity to be happy by being true to ourselves and expressing what we feel and think. No one will remember who we really were when we are gone if we don’t. We can avoid regretting that.
Let us not be afraid of having said too much or who has listened to us, let us be afraid of not having said enough and that no one has listened to us.
